The Best
Canned Foods For Your Pantry
Diced Tomatoes
My favourite "convenience" meal. Pork Ragu & Fettuccine, Chicken Pesto Pasta Salad, and Taco Cornbread Casserole use diced tomatoes.
This homemade spaghetti sauce uses crushed and paste canned tomatoes.
Canned Corn
Canned corn is used in Black Bean & Corn Salsa and Corn & Potato Chowder.
Crushed Pineapple
Pineapple Pork Chops call for crushed pineapple, but I often purchase pieces for my kids' lunches (much less expensive than the individual packs).
Canned Beans
We use beans daily in refried breakfast burritos and slow cooker bean soup. Roasted Spiced Chickpeas are a pleasant surprise.
Diced Green Chiles
Green chiles offer the ideal degree of spiciness for my kids, excellent for Green Chile Chicken Casserole or slow cooker taco meat.
Canned Pure Pumpkin
Flavor and fiber-packed pancakes, muffins, and gluten-free bread. If you have pets, canned pumpkin is also excellent for them.
Black Olives
My pantry has black olives. We put them in pasta salad and pizza.
